Juniors Chelsea Hill and Nicole Nelson each contributed four goals for the Mustangs.
Sophomore Francesca Comin found the back of the cage twice and junior Leah Ailes had one goal.
Junior Devan Lauber was solid in net, stopping 16 Spirits shots.
The Mustangs host Carmel on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
The Gilroy High varsity field hockey team remained unbeaten for the 2009 season in a 10-0 triumph over Notre Dame-Salinas on Monday in Gilroy.
Senior Mandi Jo Torres spilled in a game-high three goals to lead the Mustangs’ offensive outburst. Shayna Robledo knocked in two goals and five other players had one goal each. The Mustangs are now 11-0 overall, which includes key non-league wins against Archbishop Mitty and St. Francis, and 7-0 in the Mission Trail League.
The Mustangs have two more games slated this week, both at Garcia Elder Sports Complex. First up is North Salinas on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. They close out the week with a match up against Monterey on Thursday, also at 5:30 p.m.
