Gilroy – Neighborhood Pizza slipped past Hollister Motor Sports-Gilroy Steel 18-17 Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park to earn the Men’s Winter CCC League’s Playoff Night title.

Neighborhood Pizza will face regular-season champion Louie & the Outlaws at 6:30pm on Monday Oct. 30 at Las Animas Park for the souvenir t-shirts.

Hollister Motor Sports-Gilroy Steel opened the tripleheader with a 10-7 upset of Louie & the Outlaws.

Dave Low hit a two-run home run and Matt Andrade lined a two-run single as Hollister-Gilroy pushed across five runs in the top of the first inning. Isaiah Gonzales stroked an RBI-triple in the first as the Outlaws countered with three runs.

Albert Sanchez and Justin Mead each powered three hits and scored three runs for Steel. Bob Lopez followed with three singles. Don Rose cracked a single, double and triple for Louie & the Outlaws.

Neighborhood Pizza produced a 26-5 win over the Platinum Roofing Slammers to earn a spot in the finals.

Robert Sanchez drove in five Pizza runs with a home run, double and sacrifice fly. Rick Cosio and Brian Rudolfs each went 4-for-4 for Neighborhood Pizza. Dustin Barnes doubled and tripled for the Slammers.

Neighborhood Pizza grabbed the title when David Sotelo singled and scored on a two-out Cosio single in the bottom of the final frame to snap a 17-17 tie. Cosio went 5-for-5 and Sanchez added three hits and scored three Pizza runs. Mead hit a three-run home run and Lopez garnered three hits and scored three runs for Hollister Motor Sports-Gilroy Steel.

Men’s DDD

The AAA-Cali Boys rallied for five runs with two out in the top of the seventh inning to take the Men’s Winter DDD League’s Playoff Night title 9-7 over the Titans Wednesday at Las Animas.

The Cali Boys began the triplebill with an 8-7 edging of regular-season titlist Loco Boys. The Cali Boys erased a 4-3 deficit in the sixth with a five-run outburst. Sal Preciado stroked a three-run triple in the rally.

Mike Preciado went 3-for-3 for AAA-Cali Boys. Bubba Lara muscled two triples, a double and single for the Loco Boys.

The Titans reached the finals with a 24-7 decision over Deadman Inc. Jim Reimer homered and Ryan Romero went 3-for-3 and scored three runs for the Titans. Darin Edu and Paul Inocenio each managed two Deadman hits.

Danny Banderas hit a two-run single in the five-run seventh for AAA-Cali Boys against the Titans. Art Del Valle went 3-for-3 for the winners. Johnny Ramirez collected a single, double and sacrifice fly for the Titans.

The AAA-Cali Boys play the Loco Boys at 8:50pm Monday Oct. 30 at Las Animas for the souvenir t-shirts.

Co-ReC C

A to Z claimed the Co-Rec Winter C League title Thursday with two victories at Las Animas during Playoff Night.

A to Z opened the series with a 17-6 nod over the Big Kahunas. Benny Naranjo lined four doubles and scored three runs for the winners. Mike Lucio went 3-for-3 and scored three runs, while Henry Huerta went 3-for-3 and drove in two A to Z runs. Mark Logan went 3-for-3 for the third-place Big Kahunas.

Jose Serrano Trucking used a seven-run first inning to coast past Frame Your Family In Eyewear 13-10.

Edgar Polanco doubled and singled for the Truckers, driving in two runs. Daniel Vasquez hit a home run and three doubles for the Framers. Jason Trujillo went 3-for-3 and scored three Eyewear markers.

Kenny Hopf hit a single, double and triple to pace A to Z past Jose Serrano Trucking 19-5. Michelle Marshall, Brenda Subia and Lucio each went 3-for-3 for the champions. Tito Flores homered for Jose Serrano Trucking.

Co-Rec B

Jennie’s Crew-Dutchman’s Pizza earned two Co-Rec Winter B League victories Thursday at Christmas Hill to take the Playoff Night title.

Jennie’s, the second-place team during the regular season with a 5-3 record, edged All Out 6-5 in the playoff opener. Mike Sandoval’s solo home run in the fourth inning was the lone Jennie’s run through five innings.

Jennie’s Crew-Dutchman’s Pizza rallied for five runs in the sixth inning, paced by run-scoring triples from Gino Martinez and Sandoval. Ruben Ramirez singled and doubled for All Out.

Cary O’Neal Roofing-California Silk Screening, the regular-season champion at 7-1, defeated Lights Out 14-5 in the semi-finals. Anthony Corral and Mark Terrill hit home runs and Cherise Martinez went 3-for-3 for the winners. Rosendo Acevedo homered in a 4-for-4 effort for Lights Out.

Gil Barry launched three doubles and a triple to lead Jennie’s-Dutchman’s past O’Neal-Cal Silk 21-3 in the finals. Sandoval added a home run and two doubles, Mike Hernandez a homer, double and single for Jennie’s.

Jim Sands homered for O’Neal-Cal Silk.
