Milpitas – Shapell announces the promotion of John Luedemann to the position of Assistant Vice President/General Sales Manager. An 18-year Shapell employee, Luedemann’s new responsibilities will include handling disclosures pertaining to Shapell’s communities; managing all phases of DRE processing, phasing, and plotting; reviewing advertising schedules; managing a staff of eighteen sales professionals plus assistants; facilitating sales and customer related issues; overseeing all loan and escrow functions; and planning and implementing Shapell’s new homes sales program as well as sales training.

His father, Jack, is a former Shapell associate and an experienced, respected member of the Northern California building community. Luedemann started his Shapell career in 1986 as a host for one of Shapell’s new home communities where he quickly acquired his real estate license and joined the sales staff.

In the late 1990s, Luedemann was project sales manager for Shapell’s master-planned golf course community, The Bridges at Gale Ranch. In this capacity he oversaw the 4,000 square foot sales pavilion consisting of six sales professional and two assistants. For the past two years, Luedemann has held the title of assistant sales manager.

“John was the perfect candidate to fill this position as he’s well-versed in our business and the direction we are heading,” said Chris Truebridge, Shapell’s division manager. “As a key go-to person, John has already demonstrated his ability to be results-oriented and an effective manager. He’s a valuable team member.”

A licensed real estate broker since 1991, Luedemann is a member of the Home Builders Association, the Sales and Marketing Council, and will earn his IRM (Institute of Residential Marketing) certificate in new home management the end of 2004. He also volunteers his time as division director of Canyon Creek Little League in San Ramon, where he lives with his wife and two sons.

Shapell was founded in 1955. Considered one of Northern California’s most highly respected homebuilders, they are renowned for their excellent craftsmanship found in every home and well-planned communities that offer families a quality lifestyle. They have built thousands of homes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area as well as the San Ramon Valley. Their communities currently consist of Gale Ranch in San Ramon, Wendt Ranch in the Danville area, Evergreen Hills in San Jose and Eagle Ridge in Gilroy.

Most recently, Shapell became the lead sponsor of the California Shakespeare Theater, an Orinda-based theater now in its 30th year. Shapell has formed a “Partnership in Education and the Arts” with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District to bring a school based artistic learning program, designed by the theater, to the schools. The curriculum, that teams artists with teachers, will begin this fall and service hundreds of students. In addition, the participating students, plus chaperones, will attend a theater performance this fall through Shapell’s generous sponsorship.
