AT&T offers $250,000 reward for SJ fiber optic line vandalism

A suspect or suspects intentionally tried to shut down local electricity and communication services when they fired gunshots at a PG&E substation and severed two fiber optic lines in south San Jose early Tuesday morning, according to Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith.

After night falls in Gilroy, it's dark along the entire paved pathway directly across the entrance of Christmas Hill Park and on the lighted softball field. The light fixtures are functional, but the connecting wires have been gutted by criminals.

MHPD arrests two on drug charges at Executive Inn

Morgan Hill police made two separate arrests of suspects on related drug charges Thursday after identifying a suspicious character hanging around the parking lot of the Executive Inn, located at 16505 Condit Road in Morgan Hill.

Suspect hit Joshie, fled accident scene

Sandra Arias admitted to police that she accidentally hit Joshua Valdez with her car near a Morgan Hill intersection last month, and that she drank alcohol before driving that night, according to court records.

Police blotter: Burglary, DUI

The Gilroy Police Department made arrests for a variety of crimes the past week, including burglary, vehicle theft, possession of a stun gun and the sale of stolen property. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter between Nov. 30 and Dec. 7. All suspects remain innocent until proven guilty, and an appearance in the arrest log does not signify guilt for the listed crime/s.
