Crazy Crimes in Gilroy
It’s been a crazy few weeks on the Gilroy crime beat. There’s been a $35,000 jewelry heist, a driver ramming a police car, a major arson at Christmas Hill Park and a slew of car thefts, car break-ins and credit card fraud.

The search for suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Vacaville led to a lengthy standoff that began shortly after 10:30 a.m. and stretched well into Thursday evening at Gilroy’s Motel 6.

Police blotter: Burglary, vehicle theft, possession of a hand grenade
The Gilroy Police Department responded to a variety of crimes this week, including first-degree burglary, vehicle theft, selling stolen property and possession of a hand grenade. The arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter Feb. 26 through Mar. 5.
