Police seek suspects in Aug. 16 drive-by shooting
Gilroy police are seeking three to four suspects who they say may have participated in an Aug. 16 drive-by shooting that left a Gilroy man wounded and put bullet holes in a nearby home and car.
Fire consumes two homes in west Gilroy
Two structures in west Gilroy were destroyed Monday after a guesthouse caught fire and eventually spread to the main house nearby. Firefighters were called to 7945 Whitehurst Road at 12:30 p.m. and when they arrived, the guesthouse was engulfed in flames, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson.

Firefighters knock out blaze in Gilroy garage
GILROY—A family of three living inside a garage in a home along the 400 block of Fairview Drive was displaced Monday, after the building caught fire just before 11 a.m. Gilroy firefighters extinguished the structure fire within 15 minutes, according to Gilroy Fire Department Division Chief Chris Weber.
Teen cited for animal cruelty after incident at pet store
GILROY—A Hollister teen was charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly entered Gilroy’s PetSmart and removed a turtle from the reptile case and killed it before fleeing from the store.
