Betty Lou Gubser Dexter February 23, 1925 – July 23, 2012
Resident of Gilroy, It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Lou Gubser Dexter announces herpassing. Betty peacefully returned to the Lord on July 23, 2012.Betty was born on February 23, 1925 in Gilroy, California to Joseph and Marie Heilmann Gubser. She was the fifth of their six children and was raised in the family home on Frazier Lake Road. Her father, Joseph Gubser Sr., and her brother, Joseph Gubser, Jr., became pioneers in the Gilroy garlic industry.
Police seek suspect in liquor store robbery
Police are looking for a man who robbed a Morgan Hill liquor store clerk at knife-point this weekend.

Manuel P. Vierra passed away in Hollister, August 2, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Manuel was a native of Santa Clara, CA, and a resident of Hollister for the last 76 years.
James Owen Crawford January 30, 1933 – July 31, 2012
Jim was born in Arkansas and died peacefully in his home. As a child moved to California with his family and settled in Watsonville. A graduate of Watsonville High School Class of 1952.
Joseph G. Rose November 18, 1919 – August 2, 2012
Joseph G. Rose passed away at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital at the age of 92 years. A native and lifelong resident of Hollister, Joseph attended local schools, served with the U.S. Army in Central Europe and Northern France Theatre, and was employed by Ferry Morse Seed Company for 40 years. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge and Loyal Order Of Moose.

Update: Man with Alzheimer’s found uninjured
The 79-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer’s who went missing Friday morning, was located Saturday morning by emergency medical service personnel near Valley Medical Center in San Jose, according to Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jose Cardoza.
