Isabel Olmos
Isabel Olmos was born in Tlachichila, Zacatecas and came to Gilroy in 1952 after marrying Hipolito Olmos. She was all of 4 ft. 4 inches tall but to her family she was a Giant. She was a farm worker until she was hired at our local cannery. She always remembered how she had to stand on a "prune box" in order to reach the conveyor belts at the Felice and Perelli Cannery, later known as the Gilroy Cannery. She later went on to work and retire from Joseph Gubser Garlic Company.
