Opal Minnetta Painter
Went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 99 on November 30, 2009 in Los Banos, CA. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles E. Painter in 1977. She is survived by her son, Terry (Stuardt) Clarke of San Pablo, CA., granddaughter, Tami Welker of Los Banos, CA., grandson Rodney Pray, one great-grandson and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born in Akers, KS and a longtime resident of Gilroy, CA for 48 years until she relocated to Los Banos in November 2000. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gilroy since 1958. She taught Sunday School and was past secretary. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 – 11:00 A.M. at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy, CA. Doris B. Hoyle
Longtime Hollister resident, Doris B. Hoyle, spouse of the late Millard Hoyle, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29th after a brief illness. "Dori" , as she was affectionately called by those who knew her, was a native of Gibbon, Nebraska; graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Home Economics. Dori came to San Benito County in 1949 and taught briefly at San Benito High School. Dori was recognized as a active community leader, a member and avid supporter of many San Benito County organizations, some of which were the San Benito County Community Foundation (Board Member); Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation (Board Member); the Hospital Auxiliary; long time member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church; and the P.E.O. As a benefactor to the San Francisco Symphony, she enjoyed her trips to the San Francisco performances; she enjoyed music, singing, and participating in the choir of the First Presbyterian Church. Dori had been a world traveler and had keen interest in her collection of antique dolls.
