Lena S. Brand
Lena S. Brand passed away at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center on February 24th at the age of 96 years, after a short period of failing health. A native of San Juan Bautista, and educated in Hollister Schools, Lena spent most of her time between San Juan Bautista and Hollister. A homemaker most of her adult life, Lena had worked for the Hollister Cannery for a period of 15 years. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States; fishing; and the out-of-doors. Lena was preceded in death by her late husband Charles L. Brand, daughter Anna Murphy, and brother Ernest Vanetti. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Barbara Brand of Nevada; and a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Lucy Vanetti of Oakhurst, CA; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
