Bill died peacefully at his home in Gilroy after a courageous battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease.) His early schooling was in Salinas where he met his wife. He then served in the U.S. Air Force and attended UC Davis graduating with a degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Bill and four fellow students realized a need for equine research. Off campus they evaluated hundreds of horses under stress with the proven results continuing to be used as guidelines by fellow veterinarians and horsemen to this day.
