GILROY—Despite filing lawsuits against two downtown property owners more than three weeks ago in a “last resort” effort to bring their buildings up to earthquake safety codes, neither owner has responded, city officials said Wednesday.
Teddy bears offer comfort to children
The Gilroy Exchange Club presented the Gilroy Police and Fire departments with a multitude of Teddy bears at the club’s luncheon March 6. The Exchange Club adopted the Teddy bear program, which helps officers and firefighters handle extreme situations involving children, and purchased a number of bears to donate. Police and firefighters will give the bears to children to comfort them during times of trauma. A police car and fire engine were displayed during the lunch and presentation of bears by Exchange Club members.
California tax deadline extended
