GILROY—Advocates for the Red Barn lodged within Christmas Hill Park have bought the aging structure that has been boarded up since the 1990s a bit more time.

GILROY—The Gilroy City Council this week joined a growing list of voices in support of the $843 million sale of Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, De Paul Medical Center in Morgan Hill and four others to Prime Healthcare, putting the city squarely in the middle of one of the region’s hottest issues.

Vehicle smashes into tree, killing lone occupant

A 28-year-old Gilroy man died when the vehicle he was driving within city limits shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday collided with a tree, according to Sgt. Pedro Espinoza with the Gilroy Police Department. Authorities are withholding his name pending notification of next of kin, he said.
