‘DD’ League squad sinks Septics 12-7 for eighth win in a row
GILROY – No Soup 4 You completed an 8-0 Men’s Winter DD League performance Wednesday with a 12-7 decision over Dan Keith Septics at Christmas Hill Park.

The Soup and Septics will play again, matched in the first round of the DD playoffs on Wednesday Oct. 15 at Christmas Hill. Victory Outreach and St. Mary Men’s Club square off in the 7:40 p.m. playoff, with the winners of the two games meeting at 8:50 for the post-season crown.

Victory Outreach won Wednesday’s preview of the playoff game as James Jimenez and Tony Maquinalez each hit a double and two singles in a 10-9 edging of the Men’s Club. Chris Alonzo provided three singles for St. Mary.

Rudy Maquinalez hit a two-run double to spark a 10-run second inning as No Soup 4 You dispatched Dan Keith Septics. Angel Pasillas homered in a 3-for-3 night for the winners. Danny Rubalcalva homered and Whitney McDougal stroked three singles for the Septics.

The Bomb Squad upset the Brew Crew 9-7, dropping the Crew out of the playoff picture. Manuel Rivera’s two-run triple capped a three-run rally in the Bomber sixth to break a 6-6 tie. Mike Keith, Lee Liberatore and John Weberg collected three hits apiece for the Brew Crew.

Rich Perez cracked a three-run home run, Tomas Carrillo went 5-for-5 and Gil Barry went 4-for-4 as 6-1 Westwood Barbers topped the Enforcers 23-6 in Men’s Winter BB Legaue play Wednesday at Las Animas Park.

Westwood seeks a share of the BB title Monday at 8:50 p.m. against 7-0 Tomcats.

Adam Montarbo and Mike Leslie hit two-run homers for 3-4 Enforcers.

Jerry Johnston and Lonnie Terrill each hit a two-run home run as Bike Center-DataMate Accounting joined the Enforcers in third place at 3-4 with a 20-5 nod over Pizza N Stuff Red Dogz. Raul Bueno went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Red Dogz.

Obata is 3-4 in the playoff mix with a 17-8 win over Deez Nuts. Robert Silvia went 4-for-4, Mike Smith 3-for-3 for the Farmers. Mando Lerma went 4-for-4 for Deez Nuts.
