After reading Dennis Taylor’s column dated June 2 on the subject of courage, I wasn’t sure if I should laugh or throw-up, considering all of the nonsensical “taylorisms” that he poured forth once again, probably at the stroke of midnight before column deadline time.

Take for example his “Memorial Day is the great equalizer” ditsy, leading him into another opportunity to knock Bush and the war in Iraq. Taylor’s declaration proclaiming that he supports the troops fighting the war but does not support the war itself, is like saying it’s fine to try to get pregnant, but the end result of having a baby is not a worthwhile objective.

How can Mr. Liberal be so proud of the bravery and sacrifice coming out of Iraq, for something he cannot support? Isn’t that a dichotomy of nonsense, and dare I say hypocrisy? Does Taylor’s non-support of this war mean that he does not want a United States victory in Iraq? Does his non-support of this war mean that he just doesn’t care about a free Iraqi people?

And just what would our troops think about his little “your performing admirably and with honor” speech, “but I don’t support what you’re doing fighting this war” philosophy. I suspect they would say “horsechips” on you pal. And if he thinks I’m wrong, I encourage Taylor to visit any bar full of military guys, share his philosophy with them, and see the results. Betcha he’d find himself flying out the door head first.

And has Taylor now flip-flopped from his liberal position of 30 years ago over the honoring of troops from the war in Vietnam? Did Taylor honor those troops 30 years ago with those “thankless tasks, and countless sacrifices?”

I doubt it. But now as a “neo-liberal” he apparently can beat the drum for courage in conflict but not support the conflict. How strange. How Twilightzonish. How liberal.

Moving into an even more bizarre stream of reasoning over the subject of courage, Gilroy’s most infamous Mr. Tolerance goes on another tirade about South Valley Christian Church of Gilroy “threatening” a ballot measure or recall of the San Jose City Council for voting to recognize same-sex marriages.

Of course in Taylor’s left-wing mind, this action is not “courage” but hate. Always leave it to a liberal, who claims to be “tolerant” (which by reason means self-tolerance toward everyone, always) to raise the “hate” flag for anything that is contrary to the liberal agenda. Talk about playing the intimidation tactic! That’s a game liberals love to play to the fullest.

Taylor wrote “Ministers in Gilroy who don’t subscribe to this doctrine of hate, are often intimidated from speaking out – such is the nature of Gilroy.”

OK Dennis, let’s play your game. Name these ministers. Who are they? Cite factual instances where they have been intimidated, and intimidated by whom. Come on, be courageous yourself with some facts and not conjecture.

And just what is “the nature of Gilroy?” I suppose for your liberal mind it’s the vast right-ring conspiracy led by the local Archie Bunker Boys, lurking in the dark shadows of town. But Taylor’s paranoid writings demonstrate that he’s apparently in an advanced stage of Dingle-Norwood Syndrome.

Remember some years back when Vice President Gore challenged Gov. George Bush about Dingle-Norwood Syndrome? Bush, like many Americans, was unaware of this horrible illness. Some say as many as 42 percent of all Americans suffer from Dingle-Norwood to some degree. No one is sure how this debilitating disease is spread (maybe by CNN?) but it does seem to be widespread in America’s institutions identified as liberal, socialist, or left-wingers.

As the disease progresses the symptoms will subtlety change. Sufferers will accuse those who disagree with them of being “extremists,” “intolerant,” “homophobic,” “conspiracists,” and even “racists.” At this point of progression, the symptoms also include paranoia, aggression and delusions.

So Dennis, make a sign and go over to Wal-Mart and protest against their sales-tax carrot. That is, if you can drum-up the courage.
