LOS ALTOS HILLS – After last week’s game, Anchorpoint Christian football coach KC Adams said his team’s season hinged on its next three games.

The Warriors couldn’t have asked for a better start to the three-game test, dominating Coastal Conference opponent Pinewood School 80-36 on Friday to move to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in league.

“The score does not dictate how the game went,” Adams said. “(Pinewood) dropped at least five touchdowns. They had some wide-open looks.”

The game was close at halftime with the Warriors holding onto a slim 36-24 lead, but a huge 50-point second half catapulted Anchorpoint to the victory.

“We scored on every possession we had,” Adams said.” We didn’t have one punt.”

Senior quarterback Josh Ignagni remained hot for the Warriors hitting 6-of-9 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns. Ignagni also blazed his own trail, rushing for 153 yards on nine attempts.

“Josh is just on fire,” Adams said. “I gave him some flexibility with calling a couple options in certain situations. He kept making the right calls against the right defenses.”

Samuel Apolinar had a team-high three catches, including two touchdowns and Ken Urbanski, normally a fixture on the defensive line, caught a 71-yard touchdown pass. He also led the team with eight tackles.

The Warriors were victims of a robbery earlier in the week, with much of their equipment being taken, but received support from many people in the community.

“We had a tough week with all of the stuff missing,” Adams said. “I appreciate all the calls and donations. The community has really rallied behind us.”

Next up for the Warriors is a matchup against 4-1-1 Marina High on Saturday.
