Gilroy defeated Germany 9-0 in the Little League Softball World Series on Saturday and is one game away from advancing to the semifinals, which will be televised on ESPN2 on Tuesday.

Gilroy will be facing Central at 8pm on Monday. Gilroy (2-1), who needs a win to advance, had a bye on Sunday, while Central (1-2) lost 5-0 to Asia Pacific.

If Gilroy loses Monday’s game, it could still advance because the tie breaker is run differential.

“We were able to play some of the girls that haven’t played as much, more time (on the field),” said Gilroy manager Dusty Lester about the game against Germany. “Were going to see Central’s No. 1 pitcher. She throws a little harder than a few of them, but not harder than South or Southern California’s pitcher. We need to hit and play defense. If we can play our game then we should come out OK.”
