SARATOGA – West Valley Light Opera Association will hold auditions for its second production of its 38th season, “Forever Plaid,” at the Saratoga Civic Theater, 13777 Fruitvale, from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Call-backs will be Nov. 24 and 25.
There are principal roles for four men.
Auditioners should prepare both a ballad and an upbeat song which best shows vocal range and bring sheet music in that key. An accompanist will be provided. Songs from the show will be accepted. No tapes, please. All roles are open. Be prepared to dance and move.
Rehearsals for the show will begin Jan. 20, and there will be 14 performances from March 15 to April 12.
The musical arrangements are by James Raitt. “Forever Plaid” was written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross. Brad Handshy will be the director/choreographer, assisted by Diane Milo as vocal director and the producer is Kris Dudley.
