Goldsmith Seeds Purple Pythons 1

HIGHLIGHTS: Goldsmith Seeds’ Chelsea Hill netted the game-winning goal off an assist from teammate Alex Rose. The Python defense – which has recorded six shutouts this year – was led by Adrianna Gutierrez as well as Erin Chisolm and Laura Steele. There also was steady, all-around play from Krysta Diego, Sami Tripp, and Tayler Schaut.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Pink Lighting scored first in the opening minutes – but the Sunflowers came back strong with an equalizer from Brianna Alcantar. The Sunflowers controlled the second half – but were not able to net the game-winner. Strikers Monique Kerstens and Alex Maldonado as well as midfielers Allegra Blea, Nicole Gonzales, Nicole Kramer, Ashley McDermott, and Lindsay Speno all had strong showings. Fullbacks Rahni Giardina and Francesca Comin were stingy on defense, while goalkeepers Allison Troini and Karalyn Podesta were consistent in net.

U10 BOYS

HIGHLIGHTS: Zack Carbonneau netted a hat trick, including a penalty-shot goal to lead the Dragons. Kris Dipko and Joseph Chizanskos added two more goals for the Dragons. Tanner Holland, Allen Cooper, Michael Pirnik, and Chris Catanzaro showed all had stand-out outings. Devon Castaneda, Kyle Wanslow, Dakota Cornelius, and Gary Dickson assisted netminder Dalton Campbell to keep the shutout.

U12 GIRLS

HIGHLIGHTS: In the first half, the Heat’s Jennifer Rose scored the only goal with an assist from teammate Jackie Vidal. Goalie Rebecca Milwee kept the Crush scoreless with solid defensive help via fullbacks Samantha Saenz, Melissa Davis and Katlin Muroaka. In the second stanza, Jackie Vidal scored on a left-footed, penalty-shot goal. On defense, Monica Mercado, Monica Matthews and Amy Fortino kept the Crush at bay. For the Crush, Sarah Block, Marilyn Florek, and Zoe Fiorio, did a great job getting the ball down the field so that Arianna Vera could score the first goal. The Crush defense of Anna Sowles and Porsha Lowe played strong. The second and final Crush goal was booted in by Kim Johnson outside of the goal box.

U12 BOYS

Timberwolves 6

HIGHLIGHTS: The undefeated Wolves were led offensively by Justin Wheat, Roy Oneto, Matt Elston, Adan Arredondo, Emmanuel Aceves, and Matthew Davis. Continuously pushing the ball forward for the Timberwolves were Timothy Sterner, Tyler Hill, Thomas O’mara, and Ben Vega. James Camacho, Michael Chrisman, Ricky Meyer and Max Perkins were solid the entire game. Goalkeeper Jonathan Higgins – who’s only allowed two goals all year – recorded his fourth shutout this season.

U14 BOYS

Pipkin Racing’s Team America 4

HIGHLIGHTS: Christian Haro kicked in a pair, while Matt Hemeon and Hector Salgado added one goal apiece. Halfbacks Bernard Salgado, John Pipkin, Maarten Kerstens, Henry Phan, and Nick Xydes made many key passes, while the Smithee-Blackwell-Xydes fullback wall helped goalies Brian Hentschke and Edgar Hernandez record the shut-out.
