The OV Phoenix, one of two brand new girls Class III teams in
the Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League this season, picked up their
first victory of the season in the form of a 1-0 shutout over the
Santa Cruz Jaws.
GILROY – The OV Phoenix, one of two brand new girls Class III teams in the Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League this season, picked up their first victory of the season in the form of a 1-0 shutout over the Santa Cruz Jaws.
Goalie Brook Silvetti anchored the defensive effort, while striker Erica Turnlund led the offense with the winning goal.
Stopper Porsha Lowe, along with defenders Alexandria Mandel, Jamie McAllister and Amanda Wong, protected the net, while midfielders Marina Cathers, Alyson Inouye, and Jessica Romero directed distribution.
Attacking on offense were Stephanie Armstrong, Sarah Bernardini, Erica DiPietro, Zoe Fiorio, Monique Garrett, Shayna Osuna, Kristin Wallash and Kim Westbrook.
