on Jan. 14, 2004, at the age of 91.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona. He was a resident of Morgan Hill since 1959. He is survived by his children, Pete (Pat) Palma, of Clearlake, Jerry (Mary) Palma, of Surprise, Ariz., Joe (Patti) Palma, of Santa Cruz, Jim (Lois) Palma, of Anthem, Ariz., and Sharon (Al) Alciati, of Morgan Hill, as well as 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pete enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play baseball. He was a big fan of the Giants and Yankees. He was inducted into the Santa Clara County Softball Hall of Fame in 1982. He was part-owner of Associated Ready Mix Concrete of Morgan Hill. He was a member of the Morgan Hill Fish and Game as well as the Morgan Hill F.B.I. Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting in Colorado, pheasant and duck hunting as well as an annual family fishing/camping trip to Kennedy Meadows. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends, and his loving dog Cookie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home. A vigil service will follow at 7 p.m.

Graveside services will be on Monday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Morgan Hill under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
