Things heat up with Cummings’ press release
…
In honor of the late Rodney Dangerfield, Live Oak athletic director Mark Cummings has apparently adopted a new motivational tool for himself.
“No respect,” Cummings said in a press release issued by the Acorn athletic department. “I don’t get no respect.”
He’s referring, of course, to last week’s column mentioning his rather shaky early-season predictions. So inspired by this preposterous pointing out of his last-place standing, Cummings researched the games for hours upon hours and ended up putting together a panel-best 8-2 week.
The King of all things athletic at Live Oak passed up poor Nathan Mixter and has moved into a massive four-way tie with the priest, the boxer and the dude from the Morgan Hill Times.Â
Now he wants more.
“I’m not through yet,” Cummings rambled on his press release. “I have a sneaky feeling that hot-shot columnist Brett Edgerton was behind this smearing of my pigskin-picking reputation and I’d love nothing more than to knock him off his perch.
“I’m gunning for you, Edgy.”
