PREP ROUNDUP: CHS volleyball upends GHS

playoffs were released Saturday
The seeding for the Central Coast Section baseball and softball playoffs were released Saturday and the Gilroy High softball team (23-4) received the No. 3-seed and a first-round bye in the Division I bracket for the second straight season.

The Mustangs will await the winner of No. 11 Saint Francis and No. 6 Monta Vista. The site and time of Saturday’s quarterfinals is yet to be determined.

Enrollment numbers allowed GHS baseball to drop into Division II where it garnered the No. 8-seed and a home game against No. 9 Westmont on Thursday at 4 p.m. The winner goes on to face the survivor of No. 1 Pioneer and No. 16 Overfelt.

Making its postseason debut, the Christopher High softball team (16-10) was awarded the No. 7-seed in Division III and will welcome Pacific Grove to Gilroy on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The winner there will go on to meet No. 2 Capuchino (20-6) on Saturday. Site and time are still to be determined.
