Stabbing
Two women, 19 and 22 and two 17-year-old girls were stabbed during a large melee at 5 am Nov. 22 outside the Burger King on Leavesly Road. Gilroy Police are looking for information about the battle, which was in progress when they arrived. The victims were not cooperating with police and as a result no one has been arrested. Three of them were treated and released from the hospital and the fourth was kept for observation. Police have asked witnesses to talk to them anonymously. Attempted Murder
GIlroy Police are looking for a man in connection with a domestic dispute that left a victim on the ground at the 9300 block of Monterey Road with multiple wounds at 9:05 pm Nov. 15. John Emilio Garibaldi, 37, has been charged with a felony. He’s described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He may have shaved his head, police said. Strong-Armed Larceny
A couple filled a cart with $2,000 of goods at Kohl’s Nov. 17, police said, and they took off in a newer model Ford Focus, flat gray or flat black in color with a front novelty license plate that says “Zombie.” The vehicle also had a red-ish colored stripe across the top of the windshield and black rims with no hubcaps. Loss prevention officers caught a photo of the vehicle, which can be seen on the Gilroy Police Department and Dispatch Facebook pages.
Automobile Theft
Unknown suspect, Nov. 9, between 6:40 and 6:46 am, took the victim’s 1995 Volkswagen Jetta while it was running.
Unknown suspect, Nov. 13, at 9 pm, Westwood Drive, stole a gray 2006 Ford 500 parked at Gavilan Market.
Unknown suspect, Nov. 15 at 8 pm, Second Street, stole a green 1993 Honda Civic.
Unknown suspect, Nov. 11 at 10 pm, La Primavera Way, stole a gray, four-door 1991 Toyota Camry with license plate-number 2XSM939.
Unknown suspect, Nov. 11 at 7 pm, 7233 Rosana Street, stole a 1995 gold Honda Accord
Petty Theft
Unknown suspect, Nov. 9, Monterey Street, broke rear passenger window of victim’s 2001 Nissan Xterra and stole a silver trumpet, a brass flugelhorn, mouthpieces, and a black canvas trumpet case.
Unknown suspect, Nov. 14, at 7:45 pm, Camino Arroyo, took victim’s wallet from her unattended purse while she was shopping at Ross. The wallet contained a $300 money order, a $20 Target gift card, and a Social Security Card.
Unknown suspect, Oct. 27 at 8 pm, W. 10th Street, stole an alligator-print wallet with a small diamond stud. The wallet contained the victim’s California ID, Wells Fargo debit card, and school ID.
ID Theft
Unknown suspect, Oct. 29, Bennett Court, used stolen identity to open telephone accounts.
Commercial Burglary
Unknown suspect, Nov. 9, Wren Avenue, entered Laundry Land Gilroy and broke about 17 machines, taking all of the quarters in the machines, worth about $100. The suspect was driving a light-blue Honda CRV.

Manuel Jason Correa, 32, Nov. 11 at 4:14 am, Murray Avenue, for alleged burglary at a store. Arrestee reportedly pried open a maintenance-room door and stole three drill guns, a charger, walkie talkies, a red tool box, and a heat gun. The burglary was recorded by video surveillance, and the suspect was located at a Ramada Inn motel. Suspect booked into Santa Clara County Jail.
Vandalism
Unknown suspect, Nov. 9, Church Street, broke a window on victim’s gray Mercedes 280.
Juvenile suspect, Nov. 11 at 12:04 pm, Wren Avenue, broke multiple tiles and at least one skylight on the roof a home. The property manager estimated the damage to be about $10,000. The suspect was released to parents.
Drug Possession
Fernando Gomez Perez, 40, Nov. 10, allegedly fled from an officer to a fence, surrendered, and was taken into custody. On the other side of the fence, officers reported finding a bag containing 12.2 grams of methamphetamine. Officers also found items indicating intent to sell. Suspect was on bail for a prior felony charge.
Enrique Padilla, 21, Nov. 14 at 11 pm, was stopped for a traffic violation in the area of Bolsa Road and Garlic Farm Drive. Arrested for possession of over two pounds of marijuana, driving with a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding warrant.
Assault
Brennan Devon Funicello, 28, Nov. 11 at 4:57 pm, Lilly Avenue, reportedly became violent and assaulted victim following an argument.
Shoplifting
Norman Perales, 39, and Jose Jaime Avila, 41, Nov. 15, at 4:22 am, Camino Arroyo, arrested on suspicion of armed robbery. Report indicates one suspect entered a Walmart store and filled a shopping cart with DVDs and three flat-screen televisions, then exited through the rear emergency exit and was confronted by the manager. The suspect reportedly threatened the manager with a knife. The cart became disabled, and the suspect fled with the two flat-screen televisions.
An unknown suspect, Nov. 8, Church Street, shoplifted a 12-pack and 18-pack of beer from a Quick Stop.
Marisol Morales Cervantes, Nov. 11 at 1:49 pm, Camino Arroyo, charged with shoplifting various makeup products, 14-karat Sterling silver earrings, and a cell-phone case.
Unknown suspect, Nov. 15, First Street, took several bags of food from Safeway without paying.
Unknown male suspect, Nov. 13 at 9:06 am, Leavesley Road, entered a store and stole a small Atom toy drone worth $29.99.
Fraud
Unknown suspect, Oct. 15 at 8:00 am, Gurries Drive, accessed the victim’s credit card information and made unauthorized purchases. The victim was alerted to the purchases by the credit card company, which directed the victim to call police and file a report.
Embezzlement
Unnamed suspect, Oct. 26 at 5:05 pm, Camino Arroyo, accused of embezzling funds by fraudulently obtaining refunds for battery cores without turning in the batteries.
Residential Burglary
Unknown suspect, Nov. 12 at 2 pm, Pueblo Court, entered a residence and removed a screen from a side window and pushed the window open. Victim was upstairs and heard noises, so he went downstairs and caught the suspect halfway into the residence. The victim yelled at the suspect and scared him away. Currently no suspect leads.
Threat
Michael John Torres, Jr., 28, Nov. 11 at 6:46 pm, for allegedly sending victim a text message saying he was going to kill her. The arrestee was on active parole, and a parole hold was placed on him.
DUI
Unnamed suspect, Nov. 13 at 4:57 pm, intersection of Princevalle and 10th streets, was driving his white 2010 Toyota Prius erratically and came to rest, blocking traffic at the busy intersection. Arrested for DUI, booked at Gilroy Police Department, and released with a citation.
Seferino Gutierrez, 28, Nov. 8 at 10:58 pm, intersection of 10th and Monterey streets, arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Officers tried to stop a vehicle for traffic violations at the intersection. The vehicle failed to stop and drove east on 10th Street. Police stopped the vehicle at Chestnut Street just north of Stutz Way. Police determined that the suspect was intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, and on probation for DUI and vehicle theft. Gutierrez was booked into county jail.
