Gilroy police made arrests for a variety of crimes over the last week, including assault with a firearm, robbery, possession of tear gas and driving under the influence. Arrests were recorded in the Gilroy Police Department blotter between Sept. 16 and 23 and compiled using public records.
Ammo possession by a felon
• Gilroy man, 25, Sept. 16 at 8:31 a.m. on the 7300 block of Maple Street for one felony charge.
Assault with deadly weapon
• Gilroy man, 27, Sept. 16 at 6:55 a.m. on the 7700 block of Murray Avenue for one felony charge, felony second-degree burglary and felony parole violation.
• Gilroy man, 19, Sept. 18 at 6:42 p.m. on the 7800 block of Driftwood Terrace for felony assault with a firearm and carrying a loaded firearm in public, a misdemeanor.
Battery
• Gilroy man, 58, Sept. 20 at 4:35 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
Contempt of court
• Morgan Hill man, 51, Sept. 18 at 9:17 p.m. at Saint Louise Regional Hospital for one misdemeanor charge and being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Driving violations
• Los Banos man, 18, Sept. 16 at 4:15 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility, driving with privileges suspended or revoked and making an improper left turn.
• Gilroy man, 54, Sept. 18 at 3:12 p.m. near the intersection of Carmel and El Toro streets for driving with privileges suspended or revoked, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility, expired registration and presenting unlawful registration.
• Gilroy woman, 21, Sept. 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for driving with privileges suspended or revoked, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility and making an unsafe turn.
• Gilroy man, 23, Sept. 18 at 6:55 p.m. on the 300 block of First Street for driving with privileges suspended or revoked for refusing a chemical blood test, driving on a suspended license and improper vehicle lights.
Drug possession
• Gilroy man, 37, Sept. 18 at 2:07 p.m. on the 500 block of E. Seventh Street for possession of a controlled substance and two charges for possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Gilroy man, 40, Sept. 19 at 8:35 p.m. near the intersection of Railroad and Lewis streets.
• Morgan Hill man, 33, Sept. 20 at 1:43 p.m. on the 7200 block of Monterey Street.
DUI
• Gilroy man, 41, Sept. 17 at 11 p.m. near the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Day Road for driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
• Houston, Texas woman, 44, Sept. 18 at 2:34 a.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Victoria Lane for DUI and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
• San Juan Bautista man, 27, Sept. 19 at 9:32 p.m. on the 5900 block of Travel Park Circle.
• Van Nuys man, 37, Sept. 20 at 7:26 a.m. on the 6100 block of Monterey Road.
• Capitola man, 44, Sept. 20 at 11:41 p.m. near the intersection of Old Gilroy and East streets for DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher, storing an opened container of alcohol in a vehicle and driving while unlicensed.
• Morgan Hill woman, 38, Sept. 21 at 11:34 p.m. on the 100 block of W. 10th Street for DUI and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Giving false name to police
• Gilroy man, 25, Sept. 20 at 10:05 a.m. on the 7200 block of East Street for one misdemeanor charge.
Illegal lodging
• Gilroy man, 35, Sept. 17 at 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Alexander and 10th streets for lodging without the consent of property owner.
Outstanding warrants
• Hollister woman, 34, Sept. 19 at 2:47 a.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Camino Arroyo for five outstanding warrants, three of them felonies, including robbery, inflicting great bodily injury, California prison prior enhancement and theft of personal property, as well as additional charges for felony possession of tear gas and possession of a controlled substance.
• Hollister man, 39, Sept. 19 at 3:03 a.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Camino Arroyo for three outstanding felony warrants for robbery, California prison prior enhancement and probation violation, in addition to charges for felony false personation and possession of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 23, Sept. 20 at 5:06 p.m. on the 7200 block of Monterey Street for five outstanding warrants, three of them felonies, including possession of a stolen vehicle, theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle, California prison prior enhancement, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear.
Petty theft
• Gilroy man, 58, Sept. 20 at 3:31 p.m. on the 200 block of E. 10th Street for petty theft of personal property and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 31, Sept. 22 at 7:19 p.m. near the intersection of Camino Arroyo and Renz Lane for three misdemeanor charges and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Property theft
• Gilroy man, 41, Sept. 17 at 10:55 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for theft of personal property.
Resisting
• Gilroy man, 31, Sept. 20 at 11:55 p.m. on the 8100 block of Murray Avenue for resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 39, Sept. 21 at 5:41 p.m. on the 7100 block of Church Street for resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
Shoplifting
• San Martin woman, 22, Sept. 16 at 8:05 p.m. on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo for one misdemeanor charge and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Vehicle theft
• Commerce City, Colo. woman, 26, Sept. 17 at 11:45 a.m. near the intersection of E. 10th and Chestnut streets for felony theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, selling or aiding in sale of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy woman, 21, Sept. 18 at 5:26 p.m. near the intersection of Las Animas and Murray avenues for felony theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle, exceeding the maximum speed limit of 65 miles-per-hour, driving with privileges suspended or revoked and failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility.
Violation of court order
• Gilroy woman, 43, Sept. 16 at 11 p.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue for violation of a court order to prevent domestic violence.
Violation of protective order
• Gilroy woman, 31, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. on the 7200 block of Princevalle Street for one misdemeanor charge and re-arrest for probation revocation.
