Police Blotter: Recent arrests made in Gilroy and Morgan Hill

Gilroy Police responded to a strong-armed robbery that had just
occurred at Safeway on First Street, 10:18 p.m. March 22.
Gilroy Police responded to a strong-armed robbery that had just occurred at Safeway on First Street, 10:18 p.m. March 22. Two Hispanic males left the store without paying for alcohol. When store security confronted the subjects, they were kicked in the face. The suspects were last seen leaving the area in a late model dark blue or black pickup truck going west on First Street. They escaped with a 12 pack of Corona, a 24 pack of Budweiser and two bottles of whiskey.

Auto burglary

A thief or thieves broke the window to two parked vehicles at the Forest Park Inn. It appeared the suspect (s) then reached through the windows and removed a GPS Navigation system from both vehicles between 8 p.m. March 19 and 12:14 a.m. March 20.

A thief or thieves stole a brown wallet valued at $75 out of a vehicle on First and Monterey streets, March 1.

A thief or thieves stole a satellite receiver valued at $150 and a Tom Tom GPS valued at $200 from a 2005 white Chevy, 7 a.m. March. 10

ID theft

Someone gained access to a woman’s social security number on Westwood Drive and used it for employment purposes, Jan. 1, 2006.

Fraud

A thief or thieves gained access to a Kern Street resident’s Bank of America check card number and charged $229.25, March 20.

Grand theft

A thief or thieves entered a church on Church Street during services and took a silver and black Dell laptop valued at $1,800 between noon and 12:30 p.m. March 15.

Found property

Someone found a driver’s license, WAMU mastercards and social security cards on Mantelli Drive, March 20.

Residential burglary

Two thieves entered a vacant house on Miller Avenue through a boarded rear window and took an antique camera, 5:33 p.m. March 20.

A thief or thieves gained entry into a vacant residence on Tennyson Drive through a broken rear glass door and took a 42-inch flat screen TV valued at $1,600, a 32-inch flat screen TV valued at $950 and a laptop valued at $1,100, 5:57 p.m. March 20.

A thief entered an unlocked apartment on Church Street through the front door and stole the victim’s Coach purse from a dresser, 5:43 a.m. March 21. The purse contained a Wells Fargo bank card and an ID card.

Domestic disturbance

A mutual domestic battery occurred on West Tenth Street, 7:50 p.m. March 20.

Found property

Someone found a boy’s bike on Victoria Street, 4 p.m. March 20.

Robbery

A thief challenged a male to a fight on Church Street and then took the victim’s necklace from around his neck and fled the scene, 12:58 a.m. March 21.

Missing juvenile

A juvenile left a home on Fairview Drive, 5 p.m. March 20. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, black sweater and carrying a red Betty Boop purse. She has a small scar on her right eye brow.

Someone reported her daughter ran away on March 20 from a Byers Street home. The daughter was upset because she had been found by GPD and returned home the day before.

Injury accident

A juvenile bicyclist rode into a vehicle that was backing out of a parking space at 8800 Lilly Avenue, 3:04 p.m. March 21. The bicycle did not have fully functioning brakes. The juvenile was transported to a the hospital with minor injury.

Petty theft

A thief took three pairs of Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses valued at $360 from an outlet store, 3:11 p.m. March 22.

A thief or thieves stole window screens valued at $100 from Mantelli Drive, March 18.

Vandalism

A Honda Accord van was vandalized on West 9th Street, 5 p.m. March 20.
