An adult male was beaten with a gun early Saturday morning, and police said they have significant leads, according to a Gilroy Police Department release.

About 1:40 a.m. Saturday police responded to a reported fight involving a gun in the 7100 block of Eigleberry Street. The victim and witnesses told police the unidentified man was standing in the area waiting for friends and family to return from a nearby convenience store. While waiting, the man was approached by several occupants of a vehicle. One of the occupants threatened the man with a gun, then beat him with the weapon. He was treated at a local hospital for moderate, non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult, 27 years of age, wearing grey pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
