Portia (Giretti) Bruton, 68 years old, passed away at her home June 5th, 2009 after a six year battle with colon cancer. Portia is survived by her husband of 44 years, Don Bruton; Her eldest son, Derek Bruton and wife Helen; Daughter Kassie Bufford and husband Jason; And her youngest son, Peter Bruton and his wife Darcy. Portia was blessed with four precious grandchildren: Sera and Grace Bruton, Clare Bufford and Tyler Bruton.
Portia is survived by her sisters and best friends Sharon Giraudo and Brenda Fortino, as well as Sharon’s husband, Bob; Her brother, Gordon Giretti and wife Fawn Christenson; And many cousins, nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Family was always most important to Portia and they will miss her tremendously.
Loved by countless individuals, her thoughtfulness, compassion and concern for others touched numerous lives and she will be missed by many.
A memorial mass in celebration of Portia’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Church on June 11th, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. A reception will follow immediately at the family home at 9230 Burchell Rd. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
