Gilroy Mustangs

The Saints made a push late in Saturday’s game against Christopher, but Cougars’ pitcher Darren Santos held them off. 
Santos took the mound in the seventh inning, allowed no hits and struck out one to get the save and help the Cougars to a 5-3 win over Santa Teresa at Gavilan College. 
Christopher scored two runs in the bottom of the first and another in the second to take an early 3-0 lead. It added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, before Santa Teresa got on the board. The Saints scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning. 
Andreu Bartholic led the Cougars at the plate, going 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI. Anthonee Bartholic went 2 for 2 with an RBI, while Justin Nelson was 1 for 3 with two runs scored. Mike Sanchez and Makaio Duyao also had an RBI a piece for Christopher. 
Alec Cordova got the ‘W’ on the bump. He pitched six innings and allowed three runs on six hits. Cordova also struck out two. 
LACROSSE
Cougars cruise past LCPA
Jordan Padilla gave Latino College Preparatory Academy more than it could handle. 
The senior scored six goals for Christopher, helping it to a 16-6 win over LCPA Thursday on the road. 
Austin Reichert and Cole Rhodes chipped in with two goals a piece. Rhodes also had an assist for the Cougars. 
Michael Sosa, Zach Cefalu, Anthony Sammut, Andrew Busch, Kevin Yamaoka and Dylan Taylor all scored a goal for Christopher. Sammut added four assists, while Busch had one. 
Mike Nascimento added two assists for the Cougars, while Brad Charron and Evan Essary had one a piece. 
Christopher (5-1 overall, 4-1 in league) will next play at 7 p.m. April 14 at Palma.
