Gilroy Mustangs

Chris Chang had the crowd at Gilroy High saying “Dang” on Friday night.
Chang broke the Gilroy school record for 3-pointers hitting 10 of them in the game en route to a 73-16 win over Pajaro Valley. He posted 33 points in the game.
The Mustangs are now 10-11 overall, 5-4 in league play with three games left in the regular season. They will play at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Alvarez in Salinas.
Hawks cruise past Kirby Prep
In its last two games, Oakwood has outscored its opponents 166-38 — and shows no signs of stopping now.
The Hawks topped Kirby Prep 78-22 in Scotts Valley Friday. They jumped out to a 12-point lead after the first and cruised from there.

The 6-7 Zac Jenkins led the team with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Nate Schilling added 19 points, six rebounds and four steals while Youssef Eshra posted 11 points, 12 assists and eight steals. 
 
Oakwood (19-2) will at 7 p.m. Wednesday against York at home for Senior Night.

GIRLS SOCCER
Koontz’s hat trick lift CHS past Alisal
Vanessa Koontz scored her 15th goal of the season for Christopher Friday — in addition her 16th and 17th, too.
Koontz’s hat trick helped the Cougars to a 4-1 win over Alisal at home. Zidant Okere also scored for CHS and had an assist in the game.
The Cougar defense was led by Cata Martin and Erin Mank who helped limit the visitors scoring chances.

Christopher (13-3-1 overall, 5-3-1 in league) has just three games left in the regular season. It next plays at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Watsonville.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Three Cougars score in double digits to lead team past SB
The Christopher girls basketball team completed the series sweep of San Benito Thursday in Hollister.
The Cougars had three shooters in double digits en route to a 54-45 win over the Haybalers. 
Christa Arroyo led the team with 15 points, followed by Cydney Caradonna with 13 and Dejah Raoof with 10.
After being held to just eight points in the first quarter, the Cougars clawed their way back to lead by one, 27-26, at the half. 
Christopher (9-10 overall, 4-4 in league) will be back in action with a 7 p.m. game Tuesday at Notre Dame.
