Gilroy’s Taylor Silacci was hard at work Wednesday, helping her team stay undefeated.
Silacci’s efforts paid off as the Mustangs field hockey team topped Prospect 4-0 at home. Silacci racked up four points in the game, scoring a goal and picking up two assists.
Freshman Emily Boykin added two goals of her own off stellar passing combinations from the Mustangs’ midfielders.
“Playing better as a team was our big goal today — offensively and defensively,” Gilroy coach Adam Gemar said. “I don’t think we accomplished that, but we played well enough as a unit to score two goals per half.”
Gilroy (6-0-2 overall, 3-0-2 in league) will host St. Francis at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
