Carter leads Mustangs past Sobrato
KC Carter was unstoppable Wednesday.
Carter scored six goals in Gilroy’s 8-0 shutout of Sobrato at home, improving the Mustangs to 4-0 on the season.
Freshman Emily Boykin and junior Taylor Sallici netted the other two goals. Sallici and Emma Leach also added a couple of assists. 
The Mustangs had 12 short corners, scoring on five of them. 
Gilroy’s next game is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Archbishop Mitty. 
GIRLS WATER POLO
Mustangs drop close contest to Harbor
Senior Katie Clark helped her team hang in its game against Harbor Wednesday, but in the end it fell just short.
The Mustangs lost 13-10 to Harbor at home, dropping them to a 1-3 record overall so far. 
Clark had three steals in the game which helped the Mustangs bounced back from a 8-4 deficit at halftime. She also had two goals in the game. 
Senior Abby Kienle added six goals for Gilroy. 
The Mustangs are back in the water at 5 p.m. tonight to take on Scotts Valley at home. 
BOYS WATER POLO
Harbor tops Gilroy
Despite being down 9-0 at halftime, Gilroy didn’t give up. 
The Mustangs mustered up five goals in the second half, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to 16-5 to Harbor at home Wednesday. 
Junior Sam Mandel led the Mustangs with three goals while Joe Vanni and Mihn Nguyen added one a piece. 
The Mustangs will play at 4 p.m. tonight against San Lorenzo Valley at home.
