The Christopher field hockey team dropped a close contest at North Salinas Wednesday.
The Cougars lost 2-0 to North Salinas, displaying excellent defense in the game. Mariana Bura, Emily Hilkene and goalie Kyle Robinson all came up with big saves for Christopher (4-1 in league, 5-3 overall).
Christopher will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to host Notre Dame.Â
Mustangs can’t shake Mitty, settle for tie

Gilroy was able to draw first blood against the defending Central Coast Section championship, Archbishop Mitty, but fell short of generating any offense after that.

The Mustangs (4-0-1 overall, 0-0-1 in league) tied 1-1 in overtime with Mitty at home Wednesday in their first Mt. Hamilton League game.Â

Gilroy scored off a corner from Katrina Carter assisted by Emma Leach and Lilybeth Mendoza. Mitty was able to answer in the second half to send the game to OT.Â
