Emmanuel Salcedo was instramental for the Christopher boys volleyball team this season, leading it to back-to-back playoff berths. The senior outside hitter, who coach Karrie Gonzalez called her “MVP” after the team’s last game, was recognized with three Monterey Bay All-League honors Tuesday.
Salcedo led all South County selections with three honors as he was named the Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-League as well as to the Sportsmanship Team. Christopher, as a team, was also honored as the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Award recepiant.
Christopher senior outside hitters Wolfgang Baumgartner and Marcus Torres were named Second Team All-League. Eric Heiser was the lone Gilroy player to receive honors as he was named to the Sportsmanship Team.
