Forecasters at the National Weather Service predict three days of rain locally, beginning Friday and continuing into next week. However, the weather is not expected to become appreciably colder during this period.
While Thursday is predicted to be clear and sunny with a high of 70 degrees, temperatures are expected to dip to a high of 62 degrees Friday with a 20 percent chance of rain, according to the NWS. That chance will increase to 50 percent Friday night.
The rain is expected to continue off and on through Tuesday, with a high of about 60 degrees every day, according to the NWS. Winds are predicted to remain calm – at between 4 and 7 mph – throughout.
Meanwhile, local reservoirs have been nearly stagnant since the last downpour, according to data from the Santa Clara Valley Water District.
Both Chesbro and Uvas reservoirs were nearly full as of today, according to district data. Chesbro, was at 92 percent of capacity with 7,296 out of 7,945 acre-feet – or enough to cover a football field at a depth of one foot. Uvas held 8,331 out of 9,835 acre-feet – 85 percent of capacity.
Anderson and Coyote reservoirs were lower, at 65 and 53 percent full, respectively, according to district data. However, both reservoirs are larger, with Anderson having a capacity of 90,373 acre-feet and Coyote being able to hold 23,244 acre-feet.
