Ramon Villalobos passed away in Gilroy on May 14, 2003, suddenly at his home. A native of Texas, he was 81 years old.
He is survived by his daughter, Lydia Miller of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; his son and his wife Raymond and Nancy Villalobos Jr. of Orland; his grandchildren, Lisa Harmon, Tina Badgwell, Tony Miller, Raymond Villalobos, III., Rodney Villalobos, Richard Villalobos, Rosanne Villalobos and Rochelle Villalobos. He is the brother of Augustine Villalobos Jr. of Gilroy, Manuel and Trini Villalobos of Gilroy, Willie and Delva Villalobos of Gilroy, Stanley and Armida Villalobos of Gilroy, Ophelia Paredes of Gilroy, Cipriana Martinez of Hollister, Carol and Tom Engebretson of Gilroy, Linda and Richard Kobashi of Gilroy and Alice Trinklien of San Jose. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, Cody and Travis Harmon, Lance Eric Badgwell, Rayle Quirring, Olivia Miller, and many nieces and nephews. His parents, Augustine Sr. and Luz Villalobos and his brother Robert Villalobos preceded him in death.
Mr. Villalobos moved to Gilroy in 1987 from Sacramento. He was a truck driver for many years and lastly drove for Safeway stores. Mr. Villalobos was the first Gilroyan to be a kidney donor, donating his to his brother Augustine. He served in the Marines during World War II. He was an avid walker and also enjoyed going to the Gilroy Senior Center.
Vigil Service is 7 p.m. today at Habing Family Funeral Home. Service begins at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and then proceeds to St. Marys Church for a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Gilroy.
