GILROY – New Hope Community Church held onto a share of first place in the Men’s E Softball League’s second-half standings by topping Walton & Sons Masonry 12-5 at Las Animas Park.

Rudy Rodriguez lined a two-run double in a six-run second inning as New Hope moved to 3-1. Clark Poulsen homered and Steve Eddy went 4-for-4 for the winners. Hector Hernandez hit a two-run home run for Walton & Sons (2-2).

The Titans also reached 3-1 by defeating Trevino Brothers Construction 23-7.

Jesse Ramirez, Mike Vanni and Paul Brummitt each homered for the Titans. Chase Locsin went 2-for-3 with three RBI for the 2-2 Builders.

Weapons of Mass Seduction (2-2) powered past No Soup 4 You 23-10 behind two three-run homers from Shaun Standridge and a grand slam from Jared Racz. Joaquin Chacon hit a three-run homer for No Soup 4 You.

Team Hair FX improved to 4-1 atop the Men’s D League Friday with a 22-4 mod over Feather Haven. Joel Torrez hit a grand slam and three-run shot for the winners. Eric Gebhardt and Mike Kachel each went 4-for-4. Phillip Alosi went 2-for-3 and scored two Feather Haven runs.

Willis Construction moved into a tie at 4-1 with Hair FX by trimming Family Affair 20-18. Pat Goodman went 4-for-5 with five RBI for Willis. Leroy Martinez went 4-for-4, Sergio Guajardo 3-for-3 for Family Affair. Abel Martinez helped the Family with a solo homer.

Henry Maquinalez lashed two home runs as Humboldt Brewing upset Bike Center 14-11. Mike Catangay homered in a 4-fof-4 night for the Bikers.

ACP surprised the Borrachos 15-11 Thursday in Men’s EE play at Christmas Hill Park. The loss dropped the Borrachos into a first-place tie with the Regulators at 3-1.

Armando Hernandez hit a grand slam and Ray Cordova homered and scored four runs for ACP. Danny Melendez hit two Borrachos homers, Mitchell Reese one.

Robie Kramer went 4-for-4 and Ray Guzman homered to spark the Good Ole Boys past St. Mary Men’s Club 18-3. Bill Lara scored two St. Mary runs.

Claddagh Brew Crew moved into second place at 3-2 with a 12-6 decision over VFW Bingo (2-2). Mike Keith and Willie Weihmann each mustered three hits and scored two Claddagh runs. Rudy Gonzalez went 3-for-3 and Gabe Perez went 2-for-2 and scored two Bingo runs.

Blackout Window Tinting, the second-half Co-Rec C titlist, dropped an 11-10 contest to Out 2 Play Sunday in eight innings. James Lopez hit a two-run triple in the top of the eighth to earn Play the win. John Carrillo and Danny Rubio homered for Blackout (4-2).

Gamers In Control (3-3) turned back Hi-Energy Networks 21-6. Megan Delgado went 4-for-4 and scored three Gamer runs. Len Van Eck doubled and singled for Hi-Energy.
