The Borrachos stormed to seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to upset the Players-HD Auto Glass 14-13 in a key Men’s D Softball League game Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park.
Three consecutive two-out hits, by Peter Bisceglia, Mitchell Reese and Danny Melendez, completed the Borracho rally. Matias Franco, Mario Uribe and Sal Flores joined Melendez in the three-hit club. Joe Ojeda lined a home run and two doubles for the Players. The Borrachos are 2-0 atop the league. Six teams are tied for second with 1-1 records.
A-Plus Learning Center also used a 14-13 decision over Super Air Heating & Cooling to leave both teams at 1-1. Jason Mesa went 4-for-4 and Tim Bravo and Geoff Graves each went 3-for-4 for the winners. Kyle Lomanto homered in a 4-for-5, three-run performance for Super Air.
Isaac Sepulveda homered and John Carrillo went 2-for-4 and scored twice to help Inked Tattoo past Trevino Brothers Construction 7-6. Matt Corona homered and singled for Trevino Brothers.
Town Plaza Barbers upended Gilroy VFW Vets 25-5 to leave both clubs at 1-1. Benny Carrasco homered and Rigo Benevidez went 4-for-4 and scored five runs for the Barbers. Kevin Gonzalez went 2-for-3 and scored two runs for the VFW Vets,
Kalai Kraze defeated Wendy’s Gals 18-2 to advance to 2-0 in Women’s League play Wednesday at Christmas Hill.
Dora Olivares paced the Kalai Kraze offense with a three-run home run and a pair of RBI-doubles. Carissa Kosacek plated four runs with a pair of singles. Cayla Flowers went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Wendy’s Girls.
Corey Casillas went 4-for-4 with a sacrifice fly as Corey’s Girls topped Pops’ Gals 18-6. Michelle Barry produced four hits and scored three Girls’ runs. Maureen Hughes scored twice and Shawna Snakenberg went 3-for-4 for Pops’ Gals.
Frank Vargas Taxes-Gaeta’s Taqueria defeated Advanced Wheels 7-3 Tuesday in the Co-Rec B League opener.
Lacey Juarez hit a two-run double in the first inning as Vargas-Gaeta’s took a 3-0 lead. DH Lujan’s two-run single lifted Vargas-Gaeta’s to a 6-3 lead in the third inning.
Maciel Urenda and Andrea Garcia hit consecutive RBI-doubles in the Advanced Wheels third frame. Anthony Lucio tripled and singled for the losers.
Out 2 Play recorded a forfeit win over JR’s Crew.
