Town Plaza Barbers dropped a 5-4 squeaker to A-Plus Learning Center on Wednesday at Las Animas Park to leave four teams tied for first place in the second half of the Men’s D Softball League.

The Barbers brought a one-game lead over four rivals into Wednesday’s regular-season finale. A-Plus (3-3) built a 4-3 lead after six innings, but the Barbers notched the tying run in the top of the seventh when Vince Carrasco doubled and scored on a Rigo Benevidez double. A-Plus claimed the win in the bottom of the seventh when Jason Mesa reached base on a one-out error and scored on an Ed Cordia two-out single.

The four tied teams will compete in a tiebreaker series Monday at Las Animas. Feather Haven and the Players-HD Auto Glass play at 6:30 p.m while The Borrachos and Town Plaza Barbers play at 7:40 p.m. The two winners play at 8:50 p.m. for the right to play Inked Tattoo Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Las Animas for the season title.

Players stopped VFW Vets 10-2 as Leon Lamson went 3-for-3. Mike Montenegro and Jerry Nelson scored the VFW Vets runs.

Feather Haven, the first-half DD champion, edged Trevino Brothers Construction 23-17. Philip Alosi and Brett Scott each scored four Feather Haven runs. Bubba Castaneda hit a three-run home run for Trevino Brothers (3-3).

Borrachos made the postseason series with a 6-4 win over Super Air Heating & Cooling. Noe DeLaTorre homered and doubled for the winners. Kyle Lomanto and Aaron Tilley hit consecutive homers for Super Air.

Corey’s Girls went 6-0 for the half and claimed the Women’s League season title with a 15-14 win over Just Teazin’ Wednesday. Corey Casillas and Lisa Angulo each went 5-for-5 for the winners. Barb Lemberger hit a triple, double and single for Just Teazin’.

Pops’ Gals outlasted Kalai Kraze 17-10 as Shawna Snakenberg scored four runs. Carissa Kozacek homered in a three-hit effort for Kalai Kraze.

Just Teazin’ and Kalai Kraze will compete for the Women’s League second-place award on Wed. July 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Las Animas Park.

JR’s Crew earned the second-half Co-Rec B League title at 5-1 Tuesday with a 14-7 nod over Advanced Wheels. Gabe Ponce, Corey Casillas and Joel Lopez each scored three JR’s Crew runs. Michelle MacVicar scored twice for the Wheels.

JR’s Crew plays first-half champion Vargas Taxes-Gaeta’s Taqueria for the season title on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Las Animas Park.
