The Claddagh Brew Crew won two games Thursday at Las Animas Park to capture the Men’s Thursday EE Softball League championship.
The Lost Boyz, the regular-season champion, dropped a 16-15 game to the Sons of Thunder in the Playoff Night opener. Jeff Weseloh hit two home runs and Frank Nemetz went 4 for 4 for the Sons. Anthony Bravo homered for the Lost Boyz.
Claddagh, the second seed, eased past the Titans 17-5 to move to the finals. Matt Jimenez hit two triples for the winner. Tim Harden went 2 for 2 with a sacrifice fly for the Titans.
Claddagh outlasted Sons of Thunder 14-6 in the title game. Jake Moreno paced the Brew Crew with a home run, triple and single. Mario Flores went 2 for 2 with a sacrifice fly for the Sons of Thunder.
The Loco Boys needed nine innings to top the Players-HD Auto Glass in the finals of the Men’s Wednesday E League Playoffs at Las Animas.
After an 11-1 regular season, the top seed Loco Boys opened Playoff Night with a 14-9 nod over Blacktop Bombers. Ryan Tapia went 4-for-4 for the Loco Boys. Michael Stanley hit a double and two singles for Blacktop.
The Players trimmed Inglorious Batters 11-6 behind two homers from Rob Yamont. Devon Sheldon homered and doubled for the Batters.
Elias Madrid hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to pull the Loco Boys even with the Players at 16-16 in the finals. Mario Razo kept the Loco Boys alive in the bottom of the eighth with a two-out RBI-single to make it 17-17. Tapia notched his ninth hit of the playoffs in the Loco Boys ninth and scored on an Eddie Gomez single.
Corey’s Girls earned two wins Wednesday to take the Women’s League title at Christmas Hill Park.
Corey’s erased a 4-1 deficit after three innings to defeat Pops’ Gals 12-4 in the semi-final. Alyssa Baker and Eva Neibel each went 3 for 3 for the winners. Bria DeLorenzo went 4-for-4 for Pops’ Gals.
Corey’s struck for three runs in the sixth inning to move past South County Rockery 10-8 in the championship game. Neibel went 3 for 3 with three RBI. Suzanne Fox went 3-for-3 for South County Rockery.
