GILROY—The second-division teams were victorious on June 3 as the Men’s E League program moved into its seventh week of play at Christmas Hill Park.
The top-ranked HD Auto Glass Players dipped to 5-2 with a 13-7 setback at the hands of Bang a Pitch (3-4).
The Players struck for five runs in the top of the first, capped by an RBI-double from Henry Quistian. Bang a Pitch responded in the fourth inning. Trailing 7-5, Bang pushed across six runs for an 11-7 cushion. Zeke Lopez highlighted a seven-RBI night with a two-run double. Lopez, the Pitch manager added a two-run homer, two-run single and RBI-single.
Greg Lucio homered for the league leader. Nick Lopez scored four Bang runs.
Cold Pop improved to 2-5 with a 14-3 upset of Feather Haven.
Jake Piona hit a three-run home run and Reggie Stanley slapped a triple, double and single for Cold Pop. Aaron Parker hit a solo home run and Albert Alosi hit a two-run single for Feather Haven.
Tuesday DD
The Bash Brothers topped the Borrachos 15-5 to remain in second place with a 3-3-1 mark at Las Animas Veterans Park.
The Brothers broke open a 5-5 tie with a 10-run outburst in the bottom of the sixth inning. Junior Cano provided a triple and Anthony Foggio completed the scoring with a two-run home run. Mario Uribe scored two Borrachos runs.
Garlic City Computer Network reached 6-0-1 with a 20-10 nod over Team Caley.
Jasper Dimas homered to key an eight-run first for the Computers. Chris Salter and Eddie Adame each scored three Computer runs.
Graig Martinez and Dave Newton each drilled three hits for Team Caley.
Women
Pops’ Gals (3-4) surprised the Dirty Diamonds 12-11 in the June 3 doubleheader opener at Las Animas Park.
Toni Montoya sparked the Gals offense with four hits, including a two-run home run. Montoya singled and scored on a Sarah Miller hit in the sixth for the deciding run.
Annette Ceballos plated three runs with a single, finishing 3 for 4 for the Dirty Diamonds (4-3).
Nikki Dequin crushed two home runs, while Eva Neibel notched one in a 21-8 Unladylike (7-0) victory over Just 4 Fun. Kendra Zerashack collected three hits and Judy Ruiz tripled and singled for Just 4 Fun.
Thursday E
R&M Transport scored four runs in the eighth inning to turn back No Soup 4 You 12-8.
No Soup erased an 8-0 deficit in the bottom of the seventh with an eight-run rally, keyed by a three-run homer from Joaquin Chacon. Dustin Robinson lined a two-run double in the eighth to aid the R&M winning outburst.
Steve Murnin ripped four hits and Matt Corona tripled and singled as Trevino Brothers Construction outlasted Sons of Pitches 11-8. Cody Elias came off the Pitches bench to record two singles.
Thursday EE
The Assassins stormed past Claddagh 29-12 to leave both clubs at 5-1 atop the six-team league.
Kevin Belanger, Bob Winter and Gabe Andrade hit triples as Claddagh scored eight runs in the first inning. The Assassins pulled into an 11-11 tie in a three-run fifth inning sparked by a Luis Bobadilla homer. The Assassins posted eight runs in the sixth and 10 in the seventh. Johnny Bueno and Scott Mead each hit two homers for the winners. Andrade homered and Matt Figone went 3 for 4 for Claddagh.
Jesse Barajas and Julio Zavala each homered to propel VFW Bingo past Gilroy Thunder 21-15. Nahum Zendajas went 4 for 5 for Thunder.
John Serrine hit two singles in an eight-run second stanza as Ninja Sushi topped New Hope Community Church 10-7. Steve Quistian tripled and singled for New Hope.
