GILROY – The Hit Crew claimed the Men’s C League season crown Wednesday as the Championship Series continued play on the city’s two lighted fields.

The Hit Crew rallied from a 4-2 deficit after four innings to defeat the Dirty Dozen 13-5 and earn a 2-0 sweep of the best 2-of-3 series at Christmas Hill.

Dante Fullard keyed the Hit Crew offense with a triple, RBI-single and sacrifice fly. Doug Jensen and Jake Maslanka each netted a double and single, scoring two Hit Crew runs. Art Naranjo tripled and singled for the Dirty Dozen.

Jensen and Steve Borgna each stroked a home run and two singles as the Hit Crew took Monday’s opener 14-3.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza earned the Women’s League title with a 2-0 sweep by topping All 4 Seasons Pet Services 9-3 Wednesday.

Joleen Carrasco highlighted the Pizza offense with two doubles and a single. Maureen Hughes powered three All 4 Seasons hits.

Mountain Mike’s won Tuesday’s opener 5-1 behind Maya Valdez’ double and single.

Blackout Window Tinting claimed the Co-Rec C title with a 20-5 victory over Anritsu Tuesday. Chris Wong homered in a 5-for-6 effort for Blackout. Aaron Miller stroked two triples for Anritsu.

Lugo Motors rallied past Taqueria Del Sol 9-8 in eight innings Wednesday to even the Men’s CC series at 1-1.

Trailing 8-6 with two out in the bottom of the seventh, Lugo Motors generated four singles for two runs. Joseph Cano doubled in the Motors eighth and scored on Nathan Mixter’s single.

Taqueria Del Sol won Monday’s opener 12-5 behind Pete Del Real’s two home runs.

Fun Party Supply and Willis Construction will play at 6:30pm Friday at Las Animas after splitting the first two games of the Men’s D series.

Abel Jaquez Jr. lined four hits as Willis opened the series Tuesday with a 17-6 decision. Benny Cortez hit a grand slam for Fun Party Supply.

Fun Party Supply responded with an 11-7 win Wednesday, paced by three singles from Eddie Gomez.

Walton & Sons Masonry opened the Men’s E series Monday with a 20-12 decision over Mangia La Pizza. Tim Graves homered in a nine-run Walton & Sons first inning.

Rush Order took the Co-Rec D series in two games, capped by an 18-9 win over Here We Go Quickly Tuesday at Las Animas. Danny Pequeno went 5-for-5 and scored five runs. Nilo Velazquez roped a home run, double and single for Quickly.

The 25th Men’s E Garlic Festival Softball Tournament will be played this weekend on four local fields.

A field of 24 teams, including clubs from San Jose, Los Banos, Barstow, Hollister and Watsonville, will compete in the double-elimination event. The finals are scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Sunday at Christmas Hill Park, site of next week’s three-day Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Four games will open the action Saturday at 8 a.m. Bad News and Wide Open play at Christmas Hill’s major field. Humboldt Brewing and Watsonville’s Freedom Meat Market play on the minor field. Mountain Mike’s Pizza and North Bound compete on the Ranch Site field. Playing the Las Animas Park field will be the Players and Hit Me.
