Rec Softball Roundup: Muro helps team stand alone in first place

Aaron Muro drove in four runs with a home run and single as Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors claimed sole possession of first place in the Tuesday Men’s DD Softball League standings with an 8-5 win over Walton & Sons Masonry at Christmas Hill Park.
Jade Garcia and Rodney Clore each provided three hits as the Floormen moved to 4-1.
Walton & Sons Masonry slipped into a second-place tie with North Bound at 3-2. Johnny Andrade doubled and singled for Walton & Sons.
North Bound struck for eight runs in the top of the seventh inning, then held off a nine-run Borrachos rally to earn a 14-13 win. Mike Hernandez went 3-for-3 and scored three North Bound runs. Kenny Hopf collected two hits in the seventh for the Borrachos.
Chris Del Real and George Salgado each homered to lift the 953 Boys by Sons of Pitches, 13-8. Shawn Bell homered and Aaron Parker and Jarod Peterson both went 3-for-4 for the Sons.
Out 2 Play reached 4-0 in Co-Rec play Sunday at Las Animas Park with a 21-9 victory over Station 55. Cynthia Garza led the Players with four hits. Tommy Muth and Chris Velador each went 4-for-4, Andy Alarcon scored four runs and Jerrica Dexter went 3-for-4 for Station 55.
Team Xtreme is second at 2-1 after a 12-4 win over the Big Kahunas. Mike Martinez homered and Rich Young went 4-for-5 for Xtreme. Brian Lomeli went 3-for-4 and Julie Berggren scored two Big Kahunas runs.
Doris Kanemura went 2-for-3 and scored two runs to propel Team Rush past Guts & Glory, 8-4. Jimmy Sergi homered for Guts & Glory.
Hi-Energy Networks produced a 13-10 win over Station 55. Marco Lopez went 4-for-5 for Hi-Energy, Dave Soto 3-for-4 for Station 55.
AJM Plastic Surgery (4-0) posted an 18-12 victory over Gil’s Ole Warriors in Friday EE action at Las Animas.
Angel Gamboa and Lukas Fortino each collected three hits and scored three runs for AJM. George Espinoza went 4-for-4 and Andrew Mokres homered for the 2-1 Warriors.
Fastenal Nuts & Bolts edged the Watchmen 21-18 as Johnny Burns and Izzy Vasquez each scored four runs. Matt Olson went 3-for-3 and scored three Watchmen runs.
Cross Ministries edged Team OMG 14-11 as Alvaro Alvarez stroked a double and two singles and Jason King scored three runs. Ed Lujan went 4-for-4 for OMG.
South County Rockery reached 3-1 in Women’s League play Wednesday with an 18-6 win over Pops’ Gals. Chrissy Ivory and Stacey Shaeffer each garnered four Rockery hits. Maureen Hughes and Amanda Tellez each had three hits for Pops’ Gals.
Corey’s Girls swept a doubleheader, topping Las Frijolitas 28-3 and outlasting DF Gals 16-10 to reach 4-0. Laura Vargas went 5-for-5 and scored five runs for Corey’s in the opener. Dora Olivares doubled and singled for Las Frijolitas. Eva Neibel slapped four hits for Corey’s in the nightcap. Carissa Kozacek went 3-for-4 for DF Gals.
