Team Rush won three games Sunday to capture the Co-Rec Winter Fall Softball League title at Las Animas Veterans Park.
Team Rush, the third seed in the four-team playoff series, opened play with a 19-18 edging of Guts & Glory. Trailing 18-13 after six innings, Rush produced six runs in the seventh. Andrew Mokres hit a three-run home run with two out for the deciding runs.
Eddie Adame and Greg Lucio hit three-run homers for Guts & Glory.
Out 2 Play, the top seed after an 8-0 regular season, slipped by fourth-seeded Hi-Energy Networks 8-6 behind a 4-for-4 effort from Pelon Alvarez. Ken Van Eck led Hi-Energy with two doubles and a single.
Team Rush topped Out 2 Play 13-9 in the playoff finale. Danny Pequeno highlighted the win with three hits and a sacrifice fly. Melissa Garcia hit a two-run triple for Out 2 Play.
Rush added a 22-9 victory over Out 2 Play in the contest for the souvenir t-shirts. Mary Alba, Jazmine Perez and Matt Hernandez each scored four Rush runs. Ernie Payan hit three triples for Out 2 Play.
Corey’s Girls topped Kalai Kraze 21-3 in the Women’s League t-shirt showdown Thursday. Eva Neibel homered in a 6-for-6 showing for the winners. Melissa Tarrasco went 3-for-3 for Corey’s Girls.
Corey’s claimed the Playoff Night crown Wednesday by trimming Pops’ Gals 15-14, then turning back Station 55 10-5. Liz Adams hit a run-scoring single in the sixth as Corey’s scored five runs to overcome Pops’ Gals. Neibel doubled and singled in the Corey’s win over Station 55. Melissa Garcia went 3-for-3 for Station 55.
VFW Bingo claimed the souvenir t-shirts in the Men’s E League Thursday with a 24-15 verdict over Trevino Brothers Construction. Loren Walsh went 3-for-3 for Trevino Brothers.
Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors defeated AG Construction 23-10 to take the t-shirts for the Men’s D League Thursday. Aaron Muro scored five runs for the Floormen. Donny Gooding went 4-for-4 and scored three AG Construction runs.
