incident as a homicide

Gilroy – Three days after human remains were found in the hills off of Highway 152 just west of Gilroy, investigators said they are still unable to determine the remains’ basic characteristics, and that they are treating the incident as a homicide.
Sheriff Deputy Serg Palanov said that even the victim’s gender was unclear given the state of the remains.
“I don’t know anything more,” Palanov said Monday.
Loggers working in the hills off of Hecker Pass Highway flagged down a Santa Clara County Sheriff Sergeant Friday and reported a possible dead body between the Sprig Lake turnout and Mount Madonna County Park.
Palanov said investigators are awaiting autopsy results.
