with a 20-3 victory over Kay’s Kids Wednesday at Gavilan Sports

GILROY – M. Rizzo Landscaping opened the Women’s D League second half with a 20-3 victory over Kay’s Kids Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Julie Melendrez hit a two-run home run to cap a seven-run first inning for the Landscapers. Melendrez, LeeAnn Blean and Rene Rogers each collected three hits and scored three runs for M. Rizzo Landscaping. Brenda Maquinalez went 3-for-3, while Essie Martinez, Lorraine Marquez and Annette Maquinalez rapped two hits each for Kay’s Kids.
Gina Orca and Teena Lopez each homered to spark the Energizers past the Angels 17-6. Lopez finished with three hits and five RBI, Mary Solari three hits for the winners. Becky Jacobsen scored four Energizer runs. The Angels erupted for six runs in the fifth inning, keyed by an Erin Monroe RBI-single.
Orlando Enriquez went 3-for-4 with three RBI Wednesday as Aladdin Bail Bonds-Fermin’s Appliance Service defeated Los Chilotes 10-7 in Men’s D League action at Christmas Hill Park. Daniel Estrada went 3-for-5 and scored three Aladdin-Fermin’s runs. Juan Contreras hit two doubles and Adrian Guzman scored twice for Los Chilotes.
Xavier Puentes went 5-for-5 to carry Dirty Dozen past the Desperados 21-8. Mike Garcia and Joel Garcia each went 5-for-6 for the Dozen. Shawn Lopez scored two Desperados runs.
Jeanne Ramos went 4-for-4 as Dutchman’s Pizza began the Women’s C League second half with a 20-4 win over Goldsmith Seeds.
Diane Lujan, Christina Selvin, Dora Contreras and Mercy Sermeno each contributed three hits to the Dutchman’s attack. Sheri Steinbach drove in three runs with a triple, single and sacrifice fly. Emily Hernandez, Norma Wendt and Erica Vargas each drilled two hits for Goldsmith.
Let’s Do This scored nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to outlast Impalas Car Club 18-9.
Kiantzu Bravo, Jessica DeLaTorre and Franny Lopez each powered two hits in the Let’s Do This seventh stanza. Jessica Lopez homered in a 4-for-5 night. Silvia Vasquez and Angela Contreras each went 3-for-3 for Impalas Car Club.
Barb Dequin went 4-for-4 and Cathy Marks drove in three runs as Marks Tractor Service defeated the M&M’s 18-0. Missy Hice went 2-for-3 for M&M’s.
