A 3.9-magnitude earthquake hit near Pinnacles National Monument on Sunday night and was felt throughout the region.

The rolling earthquake occurred at 9:25 p.m. It was centered five miles northwest of the Pinnacles and 21 miles south-southeast from Hollister, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It occurred at a depth of 5.4 miles, according to the USGS.

Residents reported feeling the quake as far away as Visalia to the east and Stockton to the north, according to the USGS.

There were many responses on the USGS website from Hollister, Gilroy and Morgan Hill residents who said they felt the quake.
