Dear Editor,
When is the city going to eliminate our problem of roof rats running wild throughout our neighborhoods?
While I watch a program on TV documenting their search for clues to respiratory disease, science shows that gardeners were the ones who are affected by a deadly disease. Rats are the primary suspects in the transmission of this disease.
And then, I watch as gardeners in Gilroy use leaf blowers to spread dust along with dry mouse and rat feces into the air around our homes. I enjoy nice looking yards and clean streets, but I much prefer breathing clean air to breathing the dried rodent feces being blown around our city.
Anybody else care about this problem? The city government ought to care, they breathe the same air. Is there a connection to out children’s respiratory illnesses and the rats running free in Gilroy? Duh!
