Ruth was born on Sept. 29, 1911, to Hubert Langdon and Nora Langdon in Portal, ND. She moved to California with her parents and only brother, Edward, as a small child. She often told the story about her and her mother coming into town by horse and buggy to shop. This was in the town of Hollister, CA, where the family settled.
Ruth also attended school in Hollister and also worked for the Superintendent of Schools in Hollister. Later, she put in 20 years of service with the Probation Dept. of Santa Clara County as a Secretary at The James Boys Ranch and The Harold Holden Ranch in Morgan Hill.
In Hollister, Ruth met the love of her life, William “Bill” Yearian. Mr. Yearian taught school at Live Oak High School for 35 years. They married on July 9, 1932, and raised two daughters after settling in Morgan Hill, CA.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and her eldest daughter, Sharon Licursi. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Yearian and son-in-law, John Licursi of Gilroy, CA.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 4, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., also at he above mentioned funeral home. Interment to follow.
