Tornadoes take scoreless tie with Hamilton
GILROY – The Orchard Valley Tornadoes, an U12 girls competitive soccer squad, continued with what has become a recurring and somewhat troublesome theme of playing very well and controlling play in general, but not being able to score.

This past weekend, the Tornadoes fought to a 0-0 tie against the Hamilton Rayz.

Both halves of the game followed the same pattern. The Rayz came out strong in the early going in both, but the Tornadoes eventually gained control. The Tornadoes generated many more shots and scoring opportunities, but once again were unable to find the back of the net. The continuing bright spots are the overall solid play of the team in the field, particularly on the defensive end, and goalie Nichole Downing notching yet another shutout.

The Tornadoes have three league games over the next two weeks to tune up for the District Cup.
